Feature Requests

The current update process on desktop is disruptive. I'd love to see seamless, automatic updates in the background without needing to relaunch manually every time. Please consider a silent or background update option.

Either a setting or a startup flag that makes it so Notion automatically updates on startup, without asking for confirmation.

Notion is an incredibly powerful tool used by millions worldwide, but it currently lacks proper RTL (Right-to-Left) text direction support for languages like Persian (Farsi), Arabic, Hebrew, and Urdu. Why this matters: Large user base: Millions of users in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia use Notion daily and struggle with text alignment issues Professional use cases: Educators, content creators, and businesses teaching or working in RTL languages face significant formatting challenges Competitive disadvantage: Other productivity tools (Obsidian, Craft, etc.) have already implemented RTL support, making Notion less attractive for RTL language users Accessibility: Proper text direction is a basic accessibility feature for native speakers of RTL languages What we need: Automatic RTL text direction detection Manual toggle option for mixed-language content Proper alignment for headings, lists, and callouts RTL support in databases and tables Impact: This feature would unlock Notion's full potential for hundreds of millions of RTL language speakers and significantly expand Notion's global reach. This is one of the most requested features, when typing in Arabic for example, the words get messed up especially if there is an English word in the middle. Please add the option to switch the text format or the page format to Right to Left

The idea is to allow page-level access control via a passcode, so only users who know the code can open that page. This would greatly simplify privacy management in large workspaces. For example, in our workspace of about 50 members, we often need to keep just a few pages private. Adjusting sharing settings manually for each page and person is cumbersome. A simple passcode system would make it much easier and faster to secure select pages without affecting overall collaboration. Truly appreciate all the work you do and thank you for the implementation.

Notion email automation are amazing, nevertheless one big problem is that when you want to use it to send the email to your customer, it is added to the end of the email and customer immediately find out, that the message is autocreated and it is not written by human. Would it be possible to review change of this feature?

I use Notion to document design projects and moodboards. However, Notion doesn’t allow adding borders around images. A simple option to adjust border thickness (1–3px) and color would greatly improve readability, layout clarity, and visual storytelling — especially when showcasing multiple design assets. It helps separate images from white backgrounds and makes pages look more organized and professional.

It would be really helpful if we could delete previously uploaded custom icons. Right now, any image I upload as an icon stays permanently in the icon selector, and there's no way to remove it. Please consider adding a way to manage or delete old uploaded icons, especially for those we added by mistake or no longer use. Thank you!

if i want to lock the database and it's pages and contents now we have to go to each page and lock them individually, please give option to lock all the pages of a database in one go or give the user to choose locking pages by default whenever they save them and later if we want to edit we can obviously go and unlock just like simple excel sheet in mobile app i accidently ruined the format and when i touch screen it selects the text and deletes to no undo option like computer version
